Speed Inducted Into National Football Museum Hall Of Fame

Former Leeds United midfielder Gary Speed is to be inducted into the National Football Museum Hall of Fame.

Speed, who sadly died in 2011 at just 42, made 841 career appearances during a career that spanned over 20-years.

The Welsh international made 85 appearances for his country and he also went onto manage his national side.

He was part of the Leeds side that won the Second Division title and the last First Division title in the space of three years in the early 90s and he made 313 appearances for Leeds before leaving to join Everton.

Speed also went on to play for Newcastle United, Bolton Wanderers and Sheffield United and he made his final competitive appearance for the blades in November 2010, when he was player-manager. He then went on to manage

He finished his career making 535 Premier League appearances and he stands fifth on the leading appearance makers in the division behind Gareth Barry, Ryan Giggs, Frank Lampard and David James.
