LUFC Christiansen - We Need To Be More Dangerous In Attack

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen wants his side to be more dangerous in the final third after being held to a second goalless draw in four days at Elland Road.

Leeds overcame a slow start against Fulham to have a number of chances to win the game with prolific goalscorer last season Chris Wood, missing one great opportunity as well as having a goal wrongly ruled out for offside.

Fulham started brightly with Ibrahima Cisse seeing his effort come back off the post. His effort seemed to stir Leeds who grew into the half. Wood missed a one-on-one opportunity when David Button in the Fulham goal denied him.

Wood had the ball in the net just before the break but an assistants flag ruled he had strayed offside but replays showed the striker was onside when the ball was played.

Both sides looked for a winner in the second half. Kalvin Phillips and Stuart Dallas both went close for Leeds in the closing minutes and despite failing to score for a second game in a row, Christiansen took the positives against a Fulham side, that once again look like they will be challenging for promotion at the end of the season.

'It's another clean sheet and I believe the team played a very good game,' Christiansen told the Yorkshire Post.

'We have to recognise that we played against one of the best teams in this league. They started very well and we were not fast enough.

'At the end of the first half we controlled the game a bit more and in the second we deserved more.

'We need to be a bit more dangerous up front but at the end I'm satisfied with that result.'

Leeds have now picked up five points from their opening three games and they will now prepare for a tough trip to Sunderland on Saturday.
