LUFC Christiansen - Austrian Tour Will Be Intense

LUFC Christiansen - Austrian Tour Will Be Intense

Leeds United head coach Thomas Christiansen is looking forward to the tour of Austria and he feels it will give them a good measure of how they are progessing this pre-season.

Leeds head out to for Austria a ten-day tour, with the side facing three games in the space of seven days.

So far, Leeds have played three local non-league sides, winning all three but they will step up their preparations for the new season with three tough games.

Leeds kick-off the tour with a clash against German Bundesliga 2 side FC Ingolstadt on Sunday July 16th.

Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach will be next up on Thursday July 20th, they will finish their Austrian tour with a clash against Spanish La Liga side SD Eibar on Sunday July 23rd, and Christiansen says it will be an intense period as they prepare for the new season.

"In Austria we will play against good teams," Christiansen told the Leeds official website.

"FC Ingolstadt played in the Bundesliga last year, everyone knows Borussia Mönchengladbach and Eibar from Spain and we will be able to measure where and how good we are, it will be intense."

Leeds return from Austria and they will face one more pre-season friendly against Oxford United at Elland Road on Saturday July 29th, one week ahead of the new season kicking off at Bolton Wanderers on Sunday August 6th.
