LUFC Monk - We Can Still Do It

Leeds United head coach Garry Monk says his side now face three cup finals in their quest to reach the end of season play-offs.

Leeds dropped out of the play-off places for the first time since November when they went down to a 1-0 defeat against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday.

The defeat, a third in five games in April, has seen slip from being comfortably sat in the top six to outside the top six on goal difference behind Fulham, who picked up six points over Easter.

Sheffield Wednesday also leapfrogged Leeds in the table following their win at Queens Park Rangers and Monk says his players must now give everything in their final three games to clinch a play-off place.

"We have three games remaining and there are still nine points to play for and we can still do it," Monk told the Leeds official website.

"The message to the team and everybody else is that we have three cup finals coming up and we have to leave everything we have on the pitch, we need to make it happen for ourselves.

"In these three games we have to force everything and give our all in every minute of these and if we do and all stick together, this group is more than capable of getting to where we need to be.

"I have great belief in this group a lot can happen in three games, especially in football.

"We have to take care of our own business now, in these next three games we will be giving everything to fight for the nine points available.

"It starts now, this group have great belief, heart and desire, they have shown it all season and I am sure we will see it again in these final games."

Leeds have trips to Burton Albion and Wigan Athletic as well as a home game against Norwich City still to come.

Leeds destiny is still in their own hands with Sheffield Wednesday and Fulham facing each other on the final day of the season and Fulham still face another tricky trip to fourth placed Huddersfield Town this weekend.
