Leeds Move To Deny Killa Bid
Leeds United have today denied that there was a summer bid for Matthew Kilgallon which was higher than the £1.75million that the club has received for the 22-year-old defender.
During the press conference to announce the new signing, Warnock was quoted (as we reported previously in the article Kilgallon Leaves Leeds): "We offered a lot more money for Matthew in the summer than what we have paid now, so it's a good bit of business."
A spokesman for Leeds United today said: "…comments suggesting there was an offer from Sheffield United at that time are at best misleading." It was also stated that whilst Warnock had enquired about Killa, there was no firm bid made at any time.
Who`s telling the truth? Well who knows? I can`t see why the club would make such an effort if the story wasn`t true. Perhaps this will appease a small band of Leeds fans that have already openly criticised the management for letting Matthew leave without any particularly suitable replacement
