LUFC Leeds Fan View v Middlesbrough

LUFC Leeds Fan View v Middlesbrough

Vital Leeds United contributor Tiny T gives us his usual view of the game at Elland Road.

This time he gives us his views after the 1-0 win over Middlesbrough.

Silvestri 7
A good game and the only downside was his distribution at times.

Byram 6
At times, he lacked concentration. He got forward well in the second half.

Pearce 6
He didn't like playing on the right side of the defence but he battled on.

Cooper 7
Solid debut and not frightened to bring the ball out of defence.

Warnock 8 Star man
Crucial tackles in and around the box and without them we would have lost.

Bianchi 5
He struggled with the pace of the game at times. He got 90 minutes though and that is a bonus.

Austin 6
Trademark tackles but his distribution lacked direction. Perhaps he should give it to those who can.

Murphy 7
An all action display for me.

Doukara 6
He took some heavy tackles, which forced him off. I would have liked him in the box more often.

Sharp 7
Great finish and should have scored with the header a little earlier.
A fat lad from Sheffield! My daughters tongue was out when he took his shirt off.

Ajose 3
We carried him and I did not see much that would make me have him in the side for the next game.

Subs
Tonge 6

His shot was pounced on by Sharp at the end to give him an assist. Otherwise, ok.

Poleon 1
He seemed to lack interest even when warming up. For me, he can go.

Cook
Not on long enough.

Summary
A bright start saw us take the game to Boro in the early stages and we might have scored.

Boro came back into it and had one ruled out for what was a mystery, as it seemed a good strike.

The two new lads settled in well, though Cooper had the odd dodgy moment and Pearce didn't seem comfortable playing on the right of centre, but he stuck to his task.

The defence looked far more solid and in Warnock, we had the stand out player as he made several crucial tackles all game.

Sharp battled away up front but does need the support of a bigger man when we go long as the Middlesbrough defence took control with the ball in the air.

A mystery to most fans was the introduction of Poleon when Smith would have been the more obvious go to player. Poleon seemed uninterested even when half-heartedly warming up.

The midfield had bite and industry; we just lacked the ability to find a killer pass at the correct time.

In all, a positive game all round compared to the Accrington game. We now move on to the Brighton match on Tuesday
