Napoli defender latest to turn down Leeds move

Former Italian international defender Alessandro Gamberini will not be signing for Leeds United after he completed a move to Chievo Verona from Napoli on Thursday.

Gamberini was linked with a move to Elland Road earlier this week and it is believed that he was interested in a move to Leeds before choosing to stay in Italy with Chievo Verona.

The vastly experienced 32-year-old, who has represented Italy at full international level during his career, has signed a two-year deal with the Serie A side.
