A look back at what was being reported on Vital Leeds on July 23rd in recent history at Leeds United.
Leeds accept a bid from Luton Town for midfielder Kevin Nicholls believed to be in the region of £700,000.
Leeds are giving a trial to an unknown 24 year old Argentinian in their final pre-season tour of Ireland. Luciano Becchio joins the squad for the game against Shelbourne
Speaking at the time, Leeds boss Gary McAllister was excited about the arrival of the unknown striker. Speaking to Leedsunited.com the boss said:
'Luciano Becchio scored a lot of goals last season in the Spanish second division,' explained the manager.
'He was brought onto the radar by Marcellino - the former Newcastle and Mallorca defender. He's a contact Gwyn Williams knows well and we were made aware of him and had a look at him.
'We've got him over for 10 days and he looks exciting, but the most important thing is how he shows in the games.`
Leeds striker Enoch Showunmi is predicting a bright future at Leeds for young American striker Mike Grella. Grella was still waiting for his first Leeds goal but Showunmi believes the goals would come a plenty once he was off the mark. Speaking about Grella at the time, Showunmi said, 'As soon as he scores that first goal I`m sure they will fly in'.
Leeds win 3-0 at Gainsborough Trinity in their latest pre-season friendly. Max Gradel scores twice and David Somma continues to impress in pre-season with the other goal.
Martin, L. Turner, Sheehan, Hatfield, Naylor, Lees, Robinson, McCann, Somma, Gradel, Baxendale.
Leeds draw their latest pre-season friendly 1-1 at Sheffield Wednesday. Former Leeds midfielder David Prutton opens the scoring for Wednesday before a late penalty by Max Gradel equalises for Leeds.
Leeds are giving a trial to Hungarian international Boldiszar Bodor and he makes his first appearance in the game.

Leeds started their three game tour of Cornwall and Devon with a 6-0 win over Tavistock.
Robert Snodgrass returned to the side after he missed the game with Farsley on Friday with a thigh injury.
Luciano Becchio also started after overcoming the injury that kept him out on Friday.
Adam Drury made his first start for Leeds since signing from Norwich City earlier this summer.
Goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown, who signed for Leeds earlier in the day also made his debut as a second half substitute.
Leeds had to wait until the 40th minute to open the scoring when Aidy White scored and Paul Green doubled the lead on the stroke of half time.
An own goal just past the hour and further goals from Robbie Rodgers, Dominic Poleon and Zac Thompson ensured a comfortable win for Leeds.

Norwegian side SK Brann have confirmed that the club and Leeds United have agreed a deal that will bring Jamaican international Rodolph Austin to Elland Road.
Brann's sporting director Rolf Magne Walstad speaking on the clubs official website stated, 'We agreed with Leeds on the conditions for a transfer on Sunday night.
'There has been the calculation for us where we had to measure Rudy's value and the financial side of such a transfer, and we also believe that the player deserves the chance to move to Leeds now.'
Jamie Ashdown and Andy Gray have agreed deals to join Leeds United.
Goalkeeper Ashdown has agreed a deal with the club and he has joined up with the squad in Cornwall this week after being released by Portsmouth at the end of last season.
The 31 year old made 21 appearances for Portsmouth last season.
Gray has signed a one-year deal with the club after enjoying a successful trial period at Thorp Arch.
The 34-year-old returns to the club where he started his career.
On a busy day for Neil Warnock and Leeds United the club have confirmed that Luke Varney and Rodolph Austin have agreed to join the club.
Varney has agreed a two-year deal at Elland Road.
Leeds United got back to winning ways with a 3-0 win at Stevenage on Tuesday night.
After three straight defeats, a Luke Varney hat trick in the final twenty minutes earned Leeds the win but for the first hour, it was once again far from convincing.
Leeds boss Brian McDermott picked eleven players, with the vast majority of them trying to prove to the Leeds boss they were worthy of a place for the opening game against Brighton and Hove Albion on August 3rd.
Leeds had a goal disallowed in the opening minutes of the game, but for most of the first half, Leeds were on the back foot and only some desperate defending and poor finishing saw them go in level at half time.
Some bad marking and poor defending saw Stevenage get space in the Leeds area but the closest they came was when Michael Brown blocked a goal bound effort on the line.
Leeds came into the game towards half time. Luke Varney saw a speculative overhead kick go straight at the goalkeeper, Dominic Poleon should have done better with a header after good work from Aidy White and Michael Brown saw his free kick hacked clear.
Paddy Kenny made a good save in the opening seconds of the second half and Leeds slowly started to get going.
The introduction of Rodolph Austin and Ross McCormack on the hour gave Leeds more width, with White and Poleon working hard out wide.
Leeds opened the scoring on 71 minutes when Varney headed a good cross from Austin in. Five minutes later, quick thinking from a free kick sent Varney clear and he drilled the ball home.
Varney completed a nine-minute hat trick when he sent the Stevenage goalkeeper the wrong way with his penalty after Adam Drury was bundled over in the penalty area.
Leeds now prepare for their only home pre-season friendly against German side FC Nuremberg on Saturday.
Kenny, Thompson, Lees, Pugh, Drury, Green (Austin 59), Norris (McCormack 59, Brown, Murphy 82), White, Varney (Hunt 81), Poleon.
