LUFC Taylor ready to fight for first team place
New Leeds United signing Stuart Taylor says he is ready to fight for a first team place following his arrival at Elland Road.
Taylor has been a regular on the bench during a fifteen-year playing career that has seen him make just 90 appearances for nine different clubs.
The former England under-21 international is ready to fight for his place despite knowing that Leeds are looking to bring in a number one goalkeeper.
Speaking to the official website , Taylor said, "If I can be the number one that`s great, that is what everyone wants to be.
"No one is going to say that they don`t want to play.
"If you ask any footballer, they all want to be the first choice in their position and I`m no different.
"A number one is possibly coming in but we will go from there. It is all about challenging for places and having competition for places.
"I`ll obviously be working as hard as possible to get the shirt and if I can I`ll be happy."
Leeds have been strongly linked with Chievo goalkeeper Marco Silvestre this week whilst young Inter Milan goalkeeper Rafaele Di Gennaro has also been linked with a move to Elland Road in recent weeks.
