LUFC Winger scotches Leeds rumours

Preston North End winger Chris Humphrey has scotched rumours that he is about to sign for Leeds United.

The 26-year-old Jamaican international has been linked with a move to Elland Road in recent days but speaking on his twitter account @humphrey_17, Humphrey told his followers:

Just to clear it up. My main focus is to help Pne to get bk into the championship. It's a championship club in league1.

Before later saying:

Looking forward to getting bk to training and working hard. Iv got a year left and am very happy were I am at the moment.

Leeds have yet to sign anyone this season with the clubs bank account frozen and no new coach in place until this week.

With the transfer window not officially opening until July 1st, Leeds will be hoping to have their bank account unfrozen this week as they return to the High Court on Monday after being served with a winding up petition by Sports Capital.

Leeds have now paid the money outstanding to Sports Capital and they will hope the formalities will be completed on Monday at the High Court.

Brian McDermott was finally replaced as Leeds manager this week, three weeks after he left the club. David Hockaday is the new Leeds coach after being unveiled in midweek and it is hoped he will be working with owner Massimo Cellino in bringing in targets to the club as the players return for pre-season training this week.
