LUFC Leeds Transfer Rumours - Week Five

LUFC Leeds Transfer Rumours - Week Five

Vital Leeds United will once again be keeping you up to date with all the transfer rumours during the summer with a weekly update.

This week, Leeds continue to be linked with a host of foreign players.

Former Blackburn Rovers and Reading defender Zurab Khizanishvili is again being linked with Leeds. The experienced 32-year-old defender was linked with a move to Elland Road last summer and Leeds along with his former club Blackburn are keen to bring him back to England having spent the last season with Turkish side Kayserispor.

Brighton midfielder Andrea Orlandi is also being linked with a Leeds move. The 29-year-old made just 16 appearances last season for Brighton and he is out of contract this summer.

Released Sunderland goalkeeper Keiren Westwood is also reportedly on the radar of Leeds. The Republic of Ireland international made just 10 appearances for Sunderland last season.

Atalanta striker Matteo Ardemagni is the latest Italian to be linked with a move to Leeds. Ardemagni has spent much of the last four seasons away from Atalanta on loan and he made 16 appearances for Carpi last season scoring four times. His most successful loan spell was during the 2012/13 season when he scored 23 goals in 39 appearances for Modena in Serie B.

Central defender Nicolas Spolli is being linked with a move from Catania. The 31-year-old Argentinian has spent the past five seasons with Catania in Serie A and he has been a regular in the side and in December 2013 he was embroiled in an heated argument with former Manchester City 'fruit-loop` Mario Balotelli, who accused the Argentinian of racially abusing him. No action was ever taken against Spolli.

Going out of the door at Elland Road, Lee Peltier is being linked with a return to Nottingham Forest, where he finished the season on loan. Bolton Wanderers are also reportedly keen on signing the defender having failed to beat Forest to his loan signing in March.

Striker Matt Smith has been linked with Huddersfield Town although the terriers have denied any interest.

One player linked with us this summer will not be joining. Wolverhampton Wanderers have this week signed Peterborough left sided player Tommy Rowe.

Wolves also look set to hold onto Richard Stearman. The defender is reportedly on the verge of signing a new deal at Molineux having been linked with a move to Leeds in week one.

All the players listed have been mentioned in the national press or by an established website and not someone who is supposedly ITK who has an auntie in the ticket office whose daughter goes out with a youth team player, if you know what I mean.

If you see any players linked with a move to or away from Elland Road then please let us know on Vital Leeds.
