Potential new owner Simon Morris tables a bid on Saturday for Leeds United, offering the clubs creditors 40p in the £1 for the club, vastly improving on Ken Bates' offer of just 1p in the £1.
Morris is believed to have already offered £10m for the club, with a further £25m ready to invest coupled with a re-development plan for Elland Road and the surrounding area.
The statement, posted both online via saveleeds.com and via subscription e-mail read:
'Property developer SR Morris Group, which is bidding to buy Leeds United FC, has today (Saturday) offered creditors 40p-in-the-pound to win their support in the battle to takeover the club.
SR Morris has already tabled £10million to buy Leeds out of administration, topped up with a cash injection of £25million to stabilise the club`s finances. The company has a £400million redevelopment plan for Elland Road that will regenerate a key area of the city.
Creditors are currently being offered 1p-in-the-pound.
SR Morris chairman Simon Morris said: 'We believe creditors will see and understand the value in our offer.
'If we are successful in our bid to buy Leeds United, there will be 20p-in-the-pound for the creditors immediately and a further 20p-in-the-pound for them over a period of time.`
At an administrator`s meeting on Friday a recount was ordered after 75.02 per cent of the creditors voted to accept the 1p-in-the-pound offer.
The recount meeting is scheduled for Monday June 4.'
Leeds United has assisted local community leaders with a project to remove the cultural divide between two faiths. Leaders of the cities Jewish and Muslim communities approached the club for help.
Leeds hosted a tournament at their Thorp Arch where young people from both the Muslim and Jewish faiths played football against each other in a specially arranged tournament.
A major boost for the Leeds squad as it appears midfielder David Prutton is going nowhere, choosing another League One adventure with the Whites next season.
Ken Bates believes Leeds are in the driving seat when it comes to this summer`s transfer activities.
The chairman who promised last week that we would see a lot of activity both in and out over the summer says the club have yet to receive any approach for striker Jermaine Beckford, he also said their not in a rush to sell him as he`s contracted till 2010.
Speaking on the official website Bates said, 'We have had no enquiries yet about Beckford.'
Leeds United will complete the signing of Swindon Town striker Billy Paynter (pictured above) in a three year deal on July 1st.
The 26 year old has agreed the deal and he will join Leeds on a free transfer at the end of his contract at Swindon Town.
Leeds United boss Simon Grayson speaking on the official website said, 'He proved his worth last season. He has matured as a player over the last couple of years and he had a fantastic season last season'.
Paynter scored 29 goals in all competitions last season, including four against Leeds as he helped the Wiltshire club to the League One play off final.
Leeds United midfielder Max Gradel has been called up for the Ivory Coast national side for their game with Benin at the weekend.
Leeds player of the season is still waiting to make his international debut after being called up to the squad for the first time last season.
MK Dons boss Karl Robinson is tipping Leeds midfielder Adam Clayton for a bright future at Elland Road.
The midfielder finished the season at MK Dons and helped the side reach the end of season play offs, only to lose in the semi-finals to Peterborough United.
Robinson speaking in the Yorkshire Evening Post, said, 'I`m sure he`s going to be a massive part of Leeds United`s push to get to the Premiership. He was a credit to Leeds United and I`m sure the kid is going to be a very talented footballer.
'With us in League One, he was one of the better players in this division. People in League One can jump up; look at the players Millwall, Norwich and Leeds had in League One and all had tremendous seasons last year.
'Most leading players from League One can step up and I`m sure Adam can do that as well.'
