1982* West Bromwich Albion A L 0-2 Division 1

*On this day in 1982, Leeds were on the brink of relegation from the top-flight of English football after suffering a 2-0 defeat at West Bromwich Albion.

The win for West Brom ensured their safety. Two days later, West Brom lost 3-0 at Stoke City, allowing Stoke to jump above Leeds in the table and putting Leeds into the final relegation place.
