On this day in 1969, Leeds United clinched their first ever First Division championship title with a 0-0 draw at Liverpool, who could have pipped them to the title had they won.
Billy Bremner led the side to the Kop end at Anfield, who stood and applauded the Leeds players, something that manager Don Revie applauded after the game. "I'll never forget it.
"It was simply fantastic, What a great gesture. You would have thought their team had won the league!"
**On this day in 1990 after a long hard season, Leeds were involved in their final home game of the season against Leicester City.
With the score at 1-1 and the game inside the final ten minutes, captain fantastic Gordon Strachan stepped up to the plate to score a superb goal to put Leeds on the verge of a return to the top-flight.
The commentary by John Helm still gives me Goosebumps, 'Have you ever seen a better goal? Have you ever seen one better timed?`
