LUFC Zola will not be replacing McDermott

The agent of Gianfranco Zola says he will not be taking over as manager at Leeds United.

The former Watford boss, who came within a whisker of leading the hornet to the Premier League last season in his first season as a manager, has been strongly linked with the managerial role at Elland Road following the arrival of his fellow countryman Massimo Cellino as the new owner of the club.

Zola`s agent Fulvio Marrucco was questioned about the possibility of him joining Leeds.

"Absolutely not. But I think we will see him back on a bench in England soon enough, rather than back in Italy," Marrucco said.

"The one thing I can tell you today is that Zola will not be Leeds' coach for next season."

Cellino says that he has no plans to get rid of McDermott, a manager who he has dismissed once already this year, but the pressure must be growing after the side suffered a seventh defeat in eight games on Tuesday night at Watford with Cellino watching from the stands.
