'If It's Football, It's Vital'

McDermott - Things will get better for Leeds Army

Leeds United boss Brian McDermott says they must come through this bad period for the sake of the army of fans that follow the club.

Leeds are once again in financial chaos, just ten-years after the 'living the dream` period under Peter Ridsdale blew up in his face.

With the proposed takeover being turned down by the Football League earlier this week and the players having to agree to defer part of their wages this week, the club once again looks to be heading towards administration just seven-years since the last time the club was in so much turmoil.

Despite ten-years of pain for the fans, they have continued to back the club to the hilt and McDermott wants a return to happier days for the fans who continue to amaze him with their support.

Speaking ahead of the game today, McDermott said, "My commitment to the fans is incredible.

"I have never seen anything like what I saw the other night. We were well beaten and I have never seen anything like that before in my life.

"I know I keep saying the same thing but the consistency amongst them is incredible considering what they have been put through in the past ten years.

"Bad times are temporary, they may turn round and say we have had ten years of it but I have to believe bad times are temporary and we will come through this period. That is the most important thing because we have an army behind us."
