LUFC Leeds international round-up
Vital Leeds United looks at how the whites players did on international duty this week.
Jack Butland - England under-21
The on loan goalkeeper captained England to a 1-0 win over Wales in their European 2015 qualifier at Derby.
The 20-year-old won his 19th cap for the under-21s and he had a relatively quiet night, as a Nathan Redmond goal was enough to keep England top of group 1with just three games remaining.
Alex Mowatt - England under-19
Mowatt made his England under-19 debut as a second half substitute as they beat Turkey 3-0 in a friendly at the home of Chester FC.
The young Leeds midfielder came on after 67 minutes with England already leading 3-0.
Mowatt will hope to enjoy a good finish to the season at Leeds and ensure he is part of the squad that play their final round of games as they attempt to qualify for this summer`s European under-19 championship finals in Hungary.
England host Scotland, Ukraine and Montenegro in May in the elite round draw with the winners of the group going through to the finals in July.
Ross McCormack - Scotland
McCormack started for Scotland in their friendly in Poland as he won his 11th international cap. The Leeds captained played 76 minutes and he missed a good chance to open the scoring before being replaced by Stoke City midfielder Charlie Adam.
Within a minute of his going off, Scotland scored the only goal of the game thanks to a strike from Celtic midfielder Scott Brown.
Rodolph Austin - Jamaica
Austin started for Jamaica as the Reggae Boyz hammered St Lucia in their latest friendly.
The game was never in doubt after Jamaica took a 2-0 lead after just twelve minutes. British based Garath McCleary added a third before the break. Two more second half goals ensured they made it back-to-back wins this week after beating Barbados 2-0 at the weekend.
Jamaica will travel to Europe for their next three games at the end of the season with games against Serbia, Switzerland and France.
Eric Grimes - Republic of Ireland under-19
Grimes played for Ireland on Tuesday night as they lost their home friendly against Romania 2-1.
Ireland will be looking for revenge when the two meet again this evening as they continue to prepare for the final round of qualifying later this month for the European under-19 championships this summer.
