LUFC Leeds Fan view v QPR
I made the trip to Queens Park Rangers on Saturday as Leeds United battled to a 1-1 draw.
I give my views on the player`s performances as Leeds looked to keep their play-off hopes alive.
He could do little with the goal and he made a good save to deny Rangers in the opening minutes of the second half.
A steady game for Peltier but it would have been nice to see him helping down the right in attack.
A solid defensive performance by Lees. Only thing that frustrates me is his distribution.
Pearce 8 Man of the match
If not for Ross McCormack, Pearce would be a leading contender for player of the season. I was disappointed with him last season but he is getting better with every game he plays.
Good game from Warnock who dealt with their most dangerous player Armand Traore.
He still doesn`t do enough for me. He saw plenty of the ball down the left but he often failed to deliver.
He worked hard in the centre of midfield and I often don`t think he gets the credit he deserves.
A much better performance from Austin, who along with Murphy, battled hard in the middle.
He never looked confident when stepping up for the penalty but he didn`t let the miss bother him and he scored soon after with a free-kick. Ironically, I thought he looked more confident and I just had a feeling he was going to score from it.
A great debut and he looks like he is going to have a great partnership with McCormack. Despite only being with us a few days, they had a very good understanding and linked up well. He came close on three occasions to getting a debut goal. I also like his work rate. He never let the defence have an easy option on the ball and that set the tone for the rest of the side.
Defensively, I think he works hard but he is doing absolutely nothing for us in attack. Problem is now, the fans are getting on his back and he was being blamed for stuff at times on Saturday when he was nowhere near the incident. I cannot see him being left out, as McDermott wants his two wingers. If only we had two!
He worked hard in midfield and he was quickly involved.
He came on inside the final ten minutes and you know what you are getting with Michael Brown.
A very late substitute. He should have been on a lot earlier.
A bit like what McDermott said after the game, I would have taken a point before kick-off but I am disappointed not to have won. I was disappointed we weren`t going in two or three up at half time and it was made worse by the fact they equalised having rarely threatened us.
In the first half, I thought we worked really hard closing down all over the pitch. We tired in the second half but I think the side looked a lot better than it as of late.
We are now returning to Elland Road for the first time in a month and with five of the next seven games at home, we need to be taking maximum points.
