McDermott holds productive meeting with squad
Leeds United boss Brian McDermott says he held a productive meeting with the squad on Sunday morning following the humiliating defeat at Sheffield Wednesday.
McDermott called the players in on Sunday after losing 6-0 at Hillsborough, this coming on the back of the 2-0 defeat at League Two Rochdale in the FA Cup.
Speaking on the official website , McDermott said, "The meeting was very productive. I also spoke to the senior players as well. The players had their say, I have always been the same way - they can have their say. I then said what I felt. And I said how I saw things in the future and how things have got to be."
McDermott is now preparing his side for the televised clash with Leicester City at Elland Road on Saturday.
Leeds have slipped to eleventh in the championship after a run of five games without a win and they come up against a Leicester side in top form and they are currently four points clear at the top of the table.
The whites will hope to draw inspiration from last season. Leeds met Leicester at Elland Road in November with the foxes at the top of the table. Leeds had gone seven games without a win, including conceding six to Watford. In the space of four days, Leeds beat both Crystal Palace and Leicester City, who arrived at Elland Road top of the table.
