Murphy to down the side that nearly signed him?

Leeds United will be looking to see in the New Year with a win when Blackburn Rovers visit Elland Road this afternoon.

Leeds have slipped out of the play-off places after picking up just two points from their last three games and they will be looking to return to winning ways.

Blackburn lost for the first time in five games when Birmingham City beat them on Sunday and they will be hoping for a quick double over Leeds having won at Ewood Park at the end of November.

SkyBet make Leeds 23/20 to claim the three points, Blackburn are 23/10 and it is 12/5 on the draw.

Luke Murphy almost signed for Blackburn in the summer before joining Leeds. The midfielder hasn`t netted since the opening day of the season and SkyBet have boosted his odds for this game from 12/1 to 14/1 for the first goal.

Marius Zaliukas signed a new deal with the club yesterday and he will hope to celebrate with his first goal for the club. Zaliukas is the only defender involved in the first team yet to score a senior goal for Leeds and the big Lithuanian international is 25/1 to open the scoring this afternoon.

Jordan Rhodes is enjoying another successful season in front of goal. Rhodes scored twice in the defeat to Birmingham on Sunday to take his tally for the season to 15. Rhodes is 7/2 to open the scoring this afternoon.

Self-confessed Leeds United supporter Tommy Spurr scored the only goal of the game when they met at Ewood Park in November and he is 33/1 to repeat the feat with the first goal this afternoon.
