LUFC White set for Leeds return

Leeds United defender Aidan White is set to return to the club after picking up an ankle injury whilst on loan at Sheffield United.

The 22-year-old was due to return to Elland Road after the blades game on New Year`s Day but an ankle injury early in their game with Oldham Athletic on Boxing Day looks set to rule him for around a month.

White, who is Leeds longest serving player having come through the academy ranks and made his debut as a 16-year-old back in 2008, has struggled to break into the side since the arrival of Brian McDermott.

The Republic of Ireland under-21 international has made just three appearances for Leeds before taking up the opportunity of regular first team football with Sheffield United in November. White made eight appearances during his time at Bramall Lane, impressing their new boss Nigel Clough, who tried to sign him during the summer of 2012 during his time at Derby County.

Clough has indicated that he will be keen on taking White back to Bramall Lane when he has returned to full fitness.
