LUFC Charlie Taylor - Progress Report

Vital Leeds United has been in touch with the fans of Fleetwood Town to check on the progress of young defender Charlie Taylor.

Taylor extended his loan deal last week with Fleetwood until the end of the season, having spent two-months with the League Two promotion chasers.

The 20-year-old made his 15th appearances of the season for Fleetwood on Saturday and he was named man of the match for Fleetwood despite losing 2-0 at home to Cheltenham Town.

Fleetwood fans from the INDEPENDENT FLEETWOOD TOWN FANS FORUM give me their views on how he is doing and they said the following.

dirkdiggler
To be honest he is a class act. He has been playing left back and his movement going forward is excellent. He seems to have good awareness and he has reasonable pace about him. I for one am delighted he is staying until the end of the season.

Mexico
He will play in the championship one day. Quality player who would cost us big money to keep him.

voiceofcod
He's been excellent for us, works hard and tries to get forward when possible. Not afraid to run at players either.

Fleetwoodbry
A quality player who we are lucky to have for the season.

handofcod
He's playing left back.

Strengths - defensively, rarely gets beaten one on one, doesn't dive in, reads the game well, going forward he's a decent crosser of the ball and can run at people.

Weaknesses - can be caught up field if he loses possession, sometimes needs to be tighter to his centre half.

Summary - talented and dependable.

Parkender
Looks a very decent prospect and he appears to improve every game I have seen him play.

Some good reports. I always liked what I saw of him in his few appearances for us. The biggest down side he showed when he played for us was a lack of ability to get back in position (as one Fleetwood fan mentions). He is still only 20 and a season of playing football at a team chasing promotion will only be good for him. I watched their JPT game on the TV a few weeks back. They looked a really good side and Taylor did really well.

Definitely got a bright future. Hopefully the loan spell will have the same effect it had on Tom Lees a few years back. Good chance he could get to Wembley in the JPT Final.
