LUFC Austin aiming to score more goals

Leeds United skipper Rodolph Austin says he wants to score more goals for the side after netting his second goal of the season in the win at Doncaster Rovers on Saturday.

Austin completed the scoring in the 3-0 win at the weekend with a sweet left foot strike and the Jamaican international, who`s only other goal this season came in the home win over Birmingham City in October, is now looking to add more goals to his game in the second half of the season.

Speaking on the official website , Austin said, "It was long overdue to be honest. I should have more and I want to score more goals.

"I`m not putting pressure on myself but sometimes I get into goalscoring positions and I want to finish them because if I can get some goals it is good for the team.

"It is a good group that we have here. Everyone wants to play and everyone wants to win so the competition is good in the team. Everyone wants to play for the manager so that is good."

Austin is already halfway to equalling his tally of last season when he scored four times for the whites following his summer move from Norwegian side SK Brann.

Despite often having to travel halfway around the world to represent Jamaica, Austin has missed just two games this season in all competitions. He missed the first two games of this season following his sending off against Brighton and Hove Albion on the penultimate weekend of last season.

The influential midfielder seems to be revelling this season in the captain`s role, gaining a growing reputation in the championship for his no nonsense tackling and hardworking displays and he is a firm favourite with the Leeds faithful.
