'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC Problematic winger returns to football

Former Leeds United midfielder Ryan Hall has signed for non-league side Bromley.

The 25-year-old has signed for Bromley, who are two levels below the Football League, on a short-term deal.

Hall was released by Leeds last month following his suspension from the club for comments he made on twitter and it is the second time that he has joined the non-league side to try to resurrect his career.

The winger spent two-years with Bromley following his release from Crystal Palace early in his career after he was told by then Palace manager Neil Warnock to sort himself out after a number of off-field problems.

He looked to have his career back on track with League Two side Southend United, where he spent two-years, earning a growing reputation with his assists and goals.

Hall was still having problems off the field at Southend and he received a 20-week custodial sentence in 2011 for affray, which was later turned over on appeal, instead receiving a suspended sentence. He fell out with Southend manager Paul Sturrock and chairman Ron Martin in the summer of 2012 and he was forced to train alone. Former boss Warnock brought him to Leeds on an initial loan deal in October 2012 before making the deal permanent in January of this year.

He made just nine appearances during his time at Leeds with current boss Brian McDermott stating in the summer that he had arrived back at the club after the summer break unfit and overweight. In September, he joined League One side Sheffield United on loan for a month and it was during his final week at Bramall Lane that he incensed Leeds fans with his comments about picking up his wages whilst not playing, when he commented:
'Look on the bright side if you're not getting played take the L out and get paid.'

He returned to Elland Road and the club promptly suspended him before returning to training two weeks later. Hall was released by Leeds towards the end of November despite having eighteen months remaining on his contract at Elland Road.

Having now had off-field problems at three clubs during his career, will anyone be prepared to take a chance on Hall when he becomes available again to Football League clubs in January?
