LUFC McCormack - I didn't know what to do

Leeds United goalscoring hero Ross McCormack says he didn`t know what to do after netting the first professional hat-trick of his career.

McCormack netted all four goals for Leeds in the 4-2 win at Charlton Athletic and the striker says it was a good day for both him and the team who made it back-to-back wins for the first time this season.

Speaking on BBC Radio Leeds, McCormack said, "It is a good day personally and an even better one for the team.

"When I scored the third, I didn`t know what to do because I have never scored a hat-trick."

The 27-year-old is in a rich vein of form at the moment. His four goals took his tally to 12 for the season and he is well on track to beat his best return of 19 goals for Leeds in a season and he will also be hoping to beat his best return of 23 goals in a season, which he scored during his time at Cardiff City.

He has now netted eight goals in his last six games since being moved into a central attacking role.

His four goals took him to the top of the goalscoring charts in the championship with eleven goals in fifteen championship appearances, one ahead of Blackburn Rovers striker Jordan Rhodes.

Leeds now have two weeks off due to the international break and despite his good club form, McCormack was surprisingly left out of the Scotland squad for their upcoming friendlies with Norway and the USA when the squad was named earlier last week.

McCormack certainly sent a strong message to former Leeds favourite and Scotland boss Gordon Strachan with his four goals on Saturday.
