LUFC McCormack proving people wrong

Leeds United striker Ross McCormack is happy to do his talking on the pitch after scoring twice in the win over Yeovil Town on Saturday.

McCormack, who scored his seventh and eighth goals of the season to move Leeds to within three points of the play-offs, looked to gesture angrily towards the kop after both his goals on Saturday and the Scottish international striker says he is happy to prove the critics wrong.

Speaking after the game, McCormack said, "I've had some stick for not scoring enough but I've made a career out of proving people wrong."

Leeds beat Yeovil Town 2-0 at Elland Road thanks to the brace from the Leeds striker.

McCormack linked up with the hard working Rodolph Austin for both goals. His first was a superb strike from a tight angle following a marauding run by Austin and his second came after more hard work from the Jamaican international, this time sliding the ball past the advancing Yeovil goalkeeper.

He has now scored four goals in his last five games since returning to a more natural role up front having been used in behind the strikers and on the wing in the past eighteen months.

His double was the first time he has scored two goals in a game for Leeds since his double in the 4-1 home win over Peterborough United in April 2012.

McCormack finished that season with 19-goals, his best return since joining Leeds from Cardiff City in the summer of 2010, and he will be hoping to beat that after a good return in front of goal so far this season.
