LUFC Former striker makes Danish move

Former Leeds United striker Mike Grella is back from the wilderness after signing for Danish Superliga side Viborg FF.

Grella, who has been without a club since being released by Scunthorpe United in the summer, has signed for Viborg until the end of the season after a successful trial.

The American returned home following his release by Scunthorpe but he failed to earn a deal with either DC United or New York Cosmos after trials with the MLS club.

The 26-year-old spent three-years at Elland Road, making 42 appearances. He made just 9 starts, scoring just 5 times.

During his time with Leeds, he had unsuccessful loan spells with Carlisle United and Swindon Town before being released in the summer of 2011.

He went on to have unsuccessful spells with Brentford, Bury and Scunthorpe and he scored just 19 goals 116 appearances during his time in England.
