LUFC Young keeper in Ireland squad
Young Leeds United goalkeeper Eric Grimes has been named in the Republic of Ireland under-19 squad for their European Championships qualifying round tournament in Sweden later this month.
Grimes will travel with the squad for their three Group 3 games in Sweden, starting with Azerbaijan on Thursday October 10th.
Ireland then face their hosts on Saturday October 12th before finishing with Bosnia & Herzegovina on Tuesday October 15th.
Grimes will hope to add to the two caps that he has earned with the under-19 side since making his debut in August in the 1-0 defeat against Norway.
He earned his second cap when he kept a clean sheet in a 1-0 win over Slovenia last month.
The 18-year-old signed his first professional deal at Elland Road at towards the end of last season.
