LUFC Hall - I haven't had a chance at Leeds

Leeds United winger Ryan Hall says he is looking forward to getting some game time after joining Sheffield United on loan.

Hall says he hasn`t had much of a chance at Leeds recently and he would be open to extending the deal with the blades past the initial one-month loan deal.

'Initially I`m here for a month,' Hall told the Sheffield Star.

'It`s not really up to me but I`d gladly stay for longer.

'I just want to be in someone`s first-team and scoring goals. But I`ve not had much of a look in lately (at Leeds) and the manager there advised me to go out and get some games because he had others who are ahead of me.

'If I do well here then, you never know, something might come of it.'

Hall played 72 minutes for Sheffield United on Saturday as they went down to a 1-0 defeat to former Leeds boss Simon Grayson`s Preston North End.

It was his first competitive appearance since coming off the bench for Leeds in the final minutes of their final game of the season at Watford in May.

The 25-year-old has had a troubled fourteen months after falling out with his previous club Southend United where he was forced to train away from the first team.

Hall eventually left Southend, joining Leeds on loan in October. He made just two starts in five appearances for Leeds in his first two-and-a-half months at Elland Road but boss Neil Warnock still signed the player on a two-and-half year deal in January.

He made just four more appearances for Leeds in the second half of last season with just one start against Birmingham City in the FA Cup at Elland Road and after a disappointing performance, he was substituted at half time.

His only appearance for Brian McDermott was his brief appearance at Watford and the Leeds boss stated last week when he signed for the blades that he had not returned to the club for pre-season training in the best of shape.

Hall has had a troubled career and Neil Warnock released him when they were together at Crystal Palace after a number of off-field problems.

League Two Southend rescued him from non-league football and he looked to have his career back on track. He spent two-years at Roots Hall where he scored 23 goals in 105 appearances and he led the division`s assists league in his two full seasons.

The move to South Yorkshire could be the chance he needs to get his career back on track after a disappointing eleven months at Elland Road.
