LUFC Byram to be Mr Versatile

Sam Byram could be Leeds Mr Versatility when he returns to the first team.

Byram continued his comeback from a long-term injury with his first ninety minutes against Sunderland in a development squad game on Monday.

The 19-year-old sprung to prominence last season playing at right full back for Leeds but McDermott is backing the clubs player of the season to play wherever is needed when he returns.

"I`m sure that he can play anywhere," McDermott told the official website.

"He could play centre midfield if he liked, centre half, right wing or right back. It wouldn`t be a problem for Sam to play anywhere."

Byram would be a surprise inclusion in the squad for the trip to Bolton Wanderers on Saturday, a place where he scored his first championship goal for Leeds last season.

Neil Redfearn`s development squad face Birmingham City on Monday, where Byram will be expected to take his next step towards a return to the first team.
