LUFC Byram set for 90 minutes

Leeds United boss Brian McDermott says he will be hoping to see Sam Byram complete 90 minutes in the clubs next development game on Monday.

Byram hasn`t played a competitive game for Leeds since April with a hip injury but he completed just over an hour for the development squad in their 2-1 win over Derby County on Monday with the young defender setting up the winner.

Leeds are still hopeful that the clubs player of the season will return to full fitness and not require surgery after over four months on the sidelines.

Speaking on LUTV, McDermott said, "He may be given 90 minutes on Monday. He came through the game last Monday well and he set up the second goal. He came off after 65 minutes after he got tired.

"I don`t want to tempt fate; we will keep him going and see how he goes."

Byram made 53 appearances for Leeds in his debut season last-term and he was an ever-present until suffering his hip injury in the warm up before the penultimate game of the season against Brighton and Hove Albion.

The game against Derby on Monday was his second appearance during his comeback after he recently had an injection to try to resolve the injury.

In his first game on his return, he played 45 minutes in the game at Huddersfield Town.
