LUFC Leeds finish pre-season with a defeat

Leeds United ended their pre-season campaign with a 2-0 home defeat to Nurnberg.

The German Bundesliga side won thanks to a goal in each half from Daniel Ginczek.

His first came after just three minutes when Luke Varney thought he had cleared his effort off the line but the goal was given.

Ginczek scored his second on 69 minutes when he headed home unmarked.

Ross McCormack had Leeds best chance of the first half but he couldn`t keep his effort on target.

McCormack forced the visiting goalkeeper into a good save early in the second half and Lee Peltier saw an effort hit the post for Leeds but it was a fourth defeat for the whites in pre-season.

Leeds will now prepare for the opening game of the season against Brighton and Hove Albion next Saturday.
