'If It's Football, It's Vital'

LUFC BBC Radio Leeds back with live commentary

BBC Radio Leeds have signed a deal with Leeds United to provide live match commentary.

BBC Leeds last provided live match commentary in the 2007/08 season but they have signed a three-year deal with the club to provide live commentary on FM around the Yorkshire region.

Leeds Managing Director David Haigh, speaking on the official website said, 'We are looking forward to working with them and see this as another exciting partnership to further increase the exposure the club receives.

'The BBC and Leeds United are a natural fit as two great institutions, both locally and nationally. It's a good deal for our fans, many of whose association with the club was forged through listening to BBC commentaries.

'It is also key to our strategy of maximising the value of an association with the club while creating the widest possible exposure for the club and all its commercial partners and followers.'

Fans will have the option next season between BBC Radio Leeds and Yorkshire Radio. Yorkshire Radio, who have provided match day commentary since 2008, will continue with their own live match day commentary.
