LUFC Leeds start tour with a win

Leeds United started their three game tour of Slovenia with a 3-1 win against a Slovenian XI.

Leeds boss Brian McDermott once again used a different starting eleven for each half, giving the squad 45 minutes each.

All three new signings this summer started the first half and it was two of the new signings Matt Smith and Noel Hunt, who scored for the second game in a row, as Leeds enjoyed a comfortable first half to lead 2-0 at the break.

It could have been more with Hunt having a goal disallowed and Aidy White hitting the woodwork.

Dominic Poleon put Leeds further ahead just past the hour as he made it two goals in two pre-season games.

Grah pulled a goal back for the Slovenian XI shortly afterwards but it was a comfortable workout for the Leeds squad.

Leeds next game will be this Saturday when they face FC Domzale.

First half:
Kenny, Peltier, Lees, Pugh, Taylor, Norris, Green, Murphy, White, Hunt, Smith

Second half:
Cairns, Thompson, Killock, Pearce, Warnock, Brown, Tonge, Drury, McCormack, Varney, Poleon
