LUFC Leeds Transfer Rumours - Week Nine
It has been a good week at Elland Road for Leeds United as boss Brian McDermott brought in two new players to the club.
Last week, Crewe midfielder Luke Murphy was being linked with a move to Elland Road with Leeds ready to gazump both Wolverhampton Wanderers and Blackburn Rovers for the midfielder`s signature. By Monday, he had signed for Leeds in a deal worth to be in the region of £1 million.
One of the longest running sagas of the summer finally ended on Wednesday when Noel Hunt signed for the club.
The striker, who was out of contract at Reading this summer, has been linked with a move to Elland Road since the first week of the close season and he finally signed a two-year deal with the club.
With so much optimism around the club this week following the arrival of the duo, it is perhaps a surprise that we have been linked with more players leaving the club this week than arriving.
The only new player linked with a move to Elland Road is Gary Mackay-Steven from Dundee United.
The 22-year-old winger, who is still in contract at Dundee, played 29 times for the Scottish Premier League side last season netting 7 times.
Sam Byram and Ross McCormack have both been linked with moves away from Elland Road this week.
Newly promoted Crystal Palace are being reported as offering £3 million for Byram, something manager Brian McDermott laughed off in midweek.
Striker McCormack is being linked with a £1 million move to fellow championship side Blackpool, something that was first reported in the Blackpool local press.
With Brian McDermott and his Leeds squad now away for ten-days, it could be quite on the transfer front although McDermott says he is close to adding two more players including one player that he has been after for a while.
All the rumours that I put up have been in the national press, local press or websites such as Skysports.com, Clubcall.com, and Teamtalk.com amongst others and not from sites where people just put up their wish list and make out that they have inside knowledge through their best mate`s uncle`s brother.
If you see or read any links with Leeds United then please let us know on here or on the forum.
