LUFC McDermott laughs off Byram 3 million bid

Leeds United boss Brian McDermott laughed off suggestions that Crystal Palace had put in a 3 million bid for Sam Byram.

When asked about the rumours of a 3 million bid, McDermott replied, "Which boot? when talking to BBC Radio Leeds.

McDermott says he is yet to have any enquiries for last season`s player of the season despite the 19-year-old being linked with a number of Premier League clubs.

The Leeds boss went on to say, "It is just talk. If any club wanted to make a bid for Sam Byram, they would do it the right way and I certainly know Ian Holloway would do it the right way, because he is a good person.

"I am sure he wouldn`t make a bid of 3 million for Sam Byram, I do not think that would be the case.

"We haven`t had any enquiries for him at the moment."

As well as Palace - Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool and Manchester City are all reported as being keen to sign the Leeds academy product who took the first team by storm last season after impressing during pre-season.

Byram made 53 appearances for Leeds and he was also included in the England under-20 squad for this summer`s World Cup finals, although he was forced to withdraw on the eve of the competition due to the reoccurrence of the hip injury that forced him to miss the end of the season.
