LUFC McCormack more than happy at Leeds

Leeds United striker Ross McCormack says he wants to stay at the club and do something great.

The Scottish international striker, who has been at the club three years, says he is more than happy at Elland Road as they prepare for the new season.

"I have made it clear a number of times that I am happy here,McCormack told LUTV..

"I love being at the club and I am privileged to play for such a good club. I am really happy, I want to stay here and I want to do something great at the club."

McCormack earned particular praise from Leeds boss Brian McDermott for his fitness levels as the players returned for pre-season training.

The squad returned on Thursday ahead of the new season with a number of changes at the Thorp Arch training ground. McDermott outlined his plans for the training facility at the end of last season, including simple things like making all the pitches the same size as the Elland Road pitch.

McDermott, who joined Leeds in April, is building for the long-term future of the club and not a quick fix and McCormack says the fans need to buy into his plans. "He wants the foundations to be built for the next few years to build a football club and not just a team.

"It is important the fans get behind what they are trying to do at the club because there is no quick fix. We need to build and make progression and really go on as a squad,"
continued McCormack.

Leeds have so far added Matt Smith to the squad with the giant striker arriving from Oldham Athletic.

Leeds play their first pre-season friendly next weekend when they make the short trip to Farsley Celtic.
