LUFC Leeds Transfer Rumours - Week Eight
The players arrived for pre-season training on Thursday and the squad welcomed just one new signing into the fold.
So far this summer, we have seen just Matt Smith sign from Oldham Athletic and he was a player who was never linked with a move.
This week, we have the customary Reading link as well as a couple of promising youngsters.
McDermott is being reportedly interested in his former goalkeeper Adam Federici.
The Australian international would be a good signing but surely Leeds would have to offload either Paddy Kenny or James Ashdown first. I am also not sure the girlfriend of Federici would welcome the move having publicly slated McDermott last season and he dropped her husband from the team.
Crewe Alexandra midfielder Luke Murphy was reported at the start of the week to be on the verge of a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers with Leeds trying to hijack the move. By the end of the week, he was close to signing for Blackburn Rovers for £1 million with Leeds close to hijacking the move.
Brentford midfielder Harry Forrester was linked with a Leeds move in midweek but it seems the out of contract 23-year-old is training with our Yorkshire neighbours Doncaster Rovers, who are on the verge of signing the player.
A few players who will not be signing are Martin Paterson and Ian Harte.
Paterson, who was linked with a move to Leeds in the first week of the summer has signed for our near neighbours Huddersfield Town.
Former Leeds defender Ian Harte, who was linked with a move to Leeds in week two has signed for fellow championship side Bournemouth.
For the first time in a number of weeks a player was reported to be on his way out of Elland Road and by the end of the week, the rumour had turned into reality.
Striker Steve Morison has returned to one of his former clubs Millwall on a season long loan.
Brian McDermott has said in an interview this weekend that he will be announcing his second signing of the summer in the next week as the transfer window officially opens on July 1st.
All the rumours that I put up have been in the national press, local press or websites such as Skysports.com, Clubcall.com, and Teamtalk.com amongst others and not from sites where people just put up their wish list and make out that they have inside knowledge through their best mate`s uncle`s brother.
If you see or read any links with Leeds United then please let us know on here or on the forum.
