LUFC McDermott not interested in selling Byram

Leeds United boss Brian McDermott says he has no interest in selling sough after youngster Sam Byram.

McDermott admitted this week that he might need to offload players before he brings anyone in and the clubs player of the year has been attracting plenty of interest over the summer from a number of Premier League clubs according to reports.

Arsenal, Everton, Liverpool, Manchester City and West Brom are all reported to have shown an interest in the 19-year-old but McDermott says he has no intention of selling the youngster despite needing funds to bring in players.

Speaking on Sky Sports , McDermott said, 'I've got no interest in selling Sam Byram - but we've had a little bit of interest for one or two players so we'll just have to wheel and deal. That's how it is at this moment in time."

McDermott did start his clear out on Friday by loaning Steve Morison to former club Millwall.

The striker has had an uninspiring six months at Elland Road since joining from Norwich City in January and he has joined Millwall on a season long loan.

The departure of Morison clears the way for striker Noel Hunt to arrive. The Republic of Ireland international striker is a free agent on Monday when his current contract with Reading ends.
