LUFC On This Day - June 29th

A look back at what happened on this day June 29th in the history of Leeds United.

Leeds have never played a game on this day in their history, so today we look back in the Vital Leeds archives of the last few years to see what was being reported.

2007
Leeds United Boss Dennis Wise has told the official club website that pre-season plans for what remains of the first team squad as they return to Thorp Arch this summer.

With just 5 days before Leeds` first pre-season fixture against Shelbourne United in Dublin, it is clear that both Wise and Assistant Manager Gus Poyet will have to work quickly to ensure that the players are up to speed.

'It`s all planned and we're looking forward to it,' Wise said on Leedsunited.com.

It is a fresh start with our pre-season and, believe me, this is going to be a hard pre-season for them.

They will work hard because we need a certain of level of fitness, and one thing for sure is that they will be fit.'

2012
Leeds United fixture changes continue to come thick and fast with four more kick off times changed.

The games with Wolves, Sheffield Wednesday and Millwall have already been moved for live TV coverage and now the kick off times have changed at Blackpool, Huddersfield Town, Derby County and Nottingham Forest.

All four games will remain on the original scheduled dates.

The trip to Blackpool on Tuesday August 21st will kick off at 8pm, the same as it did when the sides met at Bloomfield Road in April.

Three of Leeds four away games in December will now kick off at 1pm. Huddersfield (December 1st), Derby County (December 8th) and Nottingham Forest (December 26th), bringing the total to seven games moved already.
