LUFC Leeds Transfer Rumours - Week Three

LUFC Leeds Transfer Rumours - Week Three

Here we go again, another summer and another three months of Leeds United rumours in the transfer market and we are into the third week already.

We have had a number of new names linked with Leeds this week whilst players from the first two weeks continue to be linked with the club.

The only player other clubs seem interested in are Sam Byram and some of those linked with Leeds are seen as a possible replacement for the 19-year-old if he was to leave Elland Road this summer.

Arsenal and Liverpool have once again both been linked with a move for Byram this week.

If Byram was to go then the Daily Mirror were linking Manchester City defender Reece Wabara as a replacement.

The 21-year-old has made just one appearance for City and he spent much of last season out on loan. He made 29 appearances for Oldham in the first half of last season before joining championship club Blackpool on loan for the second half of the season. He made just one appearance for Blackpool and returned to Man City in March due to a lack of opportunities at Bloomfield Road.

The next name needs no introduction. Eric Lichaj made 16 appearances for Leeds in the 2010/11 season whilst on loan from Aston Villa.

Lichaj is out of contract at Villa in June and it is believed the midlands club are not going to offer him a new deal.

Brian McDermott continues to be linked with former players. Brothers Stephen and Noel Hunt have both been linked with Leeds this week.

Stephen is at Wolverhampton Wanderers, having previously played for McDermott at Reading.

The striker is out of contract at Molineux this summer.

Brother Noel is out of contract at Reading having been with the club for five years.

The striker was linked with a move to Elland Road back in 2008 before joining Reading from Dundee United.

West Ham striker Carlton Cole is another player out of contract this summer being linked with Leeds and being offloaded by his club West Ham United. Have you noticed the link with all the players we are linked with?!

The former England international scored just two goals in twenty-nine appearances last season.

Stoke City midfielder Dean Whitehead has also been linked with Leeds by the Sun.

The 31-year-old is another out of contract player who is no longer wanted by his club.

Of those already linked and continuing to be linked, Matt Mills, Billy Sharp and Ian Harte have all been mentioned as a Leeds target this week.

Of those that have been linked and no longer look like they will be on their way to Elland Road. Zurab Khizanishvili, who plays Turkish side Kayserispor was again linked with a move to Leeds this week but it appears that he has already signed a new one-year deal with his current club.

Motherwell winger Chris Humphrey is believed to be in talks with Glasgow Rangers.

All the rumours that I put up have been in the national press, local press or websites such as Skysports.com, Clubcall.com, and Teamtalk.com amongst others and not from sites where people just put up their wish list and make out that they have inside knowledge through their best mate`s uncle`s brother.

If you see or read any links with Leeds United then please let us know on here or on the forum.
