LUFC Rogers returns to football

Former Leeds United midfielder Robbie Rogers is back in football having signed for MLS side LA Galaxy.

Rogers was released by Leeds in January after making just four appearances for the club in his twelve months at Elland Road and he spent the first half of the 2012/13 season on loan with League One side Stevenage.

The American international then announced his retirement from football in February when he openly came out as gay. The 26-year-old felt he could not continue in the professional game as what he later described as 'the circus` of media attention that would follow him following his announcement.

Rogers had a change of heart at the start of this month, saying he could now be a role model for gay people in professional sport.

It is a return to the MLS for Rogers who started his career with Columbus Crew.
