McDermott - We owe it to our supporters to do well

Leeds United boss Brian McDermott says his side will give it their all at Watford on Saturday.

Leeds have little more than pride to play for as they look set for a bottom half of the table finish but Watford know a win for them could see them promoted to the Premier League if Hull City fail to beat Cardiff City in their final game of the season. McDermott says they will be looking to put on a performance for their travelling supporters who have seen them win just three times on the road this season.

"We owe it to our supporters to do well and we owe it to the league to do the job we have to do. Anyone who knows me knows that`s exactly what will happen.

"We`re not going to Watford to gatecrash a promotion party. We`re going there to put on a performance in our last game of the season - for our supporters more than anything."

McDermott will be forced into changes for the final game of the season with Rodolph Austin and El Hadji Diouf both suspended following their sending offs against Brighton and Hove Albion last weekend.

Player of the season Sam Byram will also be missing after failing to overcome a hip injury he sustained in the warm-up before the game last weekend.

All games in the championship on Saturday will kick off at 12.45pm with the Hull v Cardiff and Watford v Leeds games being chosen for live coverage by Sky TV.
