LUFC Leeds Fans View v Manchester City

LUFC Leeds Fans View v Manchester City

I made the trip to the Etihad Stadium on Sunday to see Leeds United bow out of the FA Cup as Manchester City eased past them.

Ashdown 6

He may have let four goals in but he could do little about any of them. He may some good saves to stop it being a mauling.

Byram 5
He hasn`t looked confident since his mistake against Cardiff City a few weeks ago.

Lees 5
The defence got little protection from the midfield all afternoon and the City attack were able to pick their way through the Leeds defence for fun. A soft decision for the penalty, would Clattenberg have given it at the other end? - I think not.

Peltier 5
Same as Lees, little protection in front of him and Peltier and Lees against Aguero and Tevez is no competition.

Warnock 5
In and out of the game. A player who has played most of his career in the Premier League should have been the one Leeds player who stood up to the test.

Brown 4
Time for him to be left out of the squad now. We have better midfielders not getting a game.

Austin 4
Nowhere near the player that we signed in the summer and enjoyed watching in the opening months of the season. What has happened to the man who ran through brick walls for Leeds? He also needs to be left out of the side.

White 4
He is not a midfielder or a winger. He has done nothing wrong at left back when he has played there.

McCormack 5
He obviously isn`t one of Warnock`s favourites. He had little to work off in the first half and was substituted at half time. We would have been better off leaving him on and taking Diouf off.

Diouf 4
I expected him to stand up to the test but he had no impact on the game.

Varney 6 Star Man
The only player to give us any threat in the final third. He won everything in the air. He missed a great chance to get us a consolation goal in the second half.

Subs

Morison 4

Neil Warnock was so desperate to sign this player he let Norwich have Luciano Becchio in exchange. I have seen nothing yet to see this as a good swap deal.

Norris 5
He should be starting in the midfield ahead of Brown and Austin. He did more in the middle of the pitch in the second half to add a little bite.

Tonge 5
He came on for the last fifteen minutes, and whilst I am not a huge fan of Tonge`s, he is better than what we have seen in Brown and Austin.

Summary
It is hard to be very critical of the Leeds side when they were up against a side that are in a totally different class to us.

I am just glad it was only 4-0 as I thought they never got out of second gear against us all afternoon.

How much longer does Neil Warnock have? He seems to have lost the plot and his interviews sound like he is trying to get the sack.

We now have a crucial championship game on Wednesday night and we cannot afford to lose it or we are in a serious relegation battle. Forget to play-offs, we are nowhere near good enough.
