LUFC Warnock - No one coming in at the moment

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he will not bring anyone in at the moment, as those accessible to him are no better than what he already as at the club.

After the midweek defeat at Middlesbrough, a result that left Leeds play-off hopes in tatters, Warnock said he was hoping to add to his squad before the next game. Warnock spoke on the subject at his press conference today ahead of the FA Cup clash at Manchester City on Sunday and it now seems unlikely to happen, "At the moment, I think the players that are accessible to us are no better than what we have," Warnock told the watching media.

Warnock admits that his biggest regret is not replacing Robert Snodgrass in the summer. The Leeds boss offered the Scottish international winger a deal that would have made him the highest paid player at the club, but after turning down the offer, he left to sign for Premier League side Norwich City.

The Leeds boss as continuously complained about the lack of pace in the side this season and it was no coincidence when Leeds enjoyed their most successful run of the season when Jerome Thomas arrived on loan from West Brom in November. "Like Jerome Thomas showed us, we need a bit of pace. My only regret this season is we have not replaced (Robert) Snodgrass. He was the one player, who if you could keep hold of someone, it would have been him," added Warnock.

Leeds won five of the six championship games in which Thomas featured before he returned to West Brom and they have won just two of their seven games since.

Leeds have had options. Ryan Hall is rotting in the development squad and youngster Dominic Poleon hasn`t been given the opportunity that his raw talent deserves. The club also missed out on Birmingham City winger Chris Burke on transfer deadline day, as they were not prepared to meet the asking price of a player who netted fourteen times last season and led the championship stats chart for assists.
