Leeds United midfielder Michael Brown is looking forward to a return to where it all started for him.
Brown returns to Manchester on Sunday for the FA Cup tie, 19-years after joining City as an academy player.
The veteran midfielder made his debut for City in the 1995/96 season and he marked it by being sent-off just twelve minutes after coming off the bench.
Brown enjoyed four seasons in the first team at Maine Road, making just over 100 appearances for the club and whilst he admits he would have liked an easier draw, he is looking forward to the game against his former club.
Speaking on Yorkshire Radio, Brown said, "I was hoping for a lesser draw. I was hoping for a draw that game us a more realistic chance of getting through but if we were going to get a real toughie then City away was the perfect choice for me."
Brown still as a number of friends in the Manchester area and he says there has been plenty of banter and he is warning them not to write Leeds off. "My friends, who are City fans, will all be giving me some stick; they all think it is going to be a walk in the park. Hopefully we can prove otherwise."
The 36-year-old has saved his best form for Leeds this season for the cup competitions, enjoy battles with Frank Lampard in the clash with Chelsea in the League Cup and Scott Parker for Tottenham in the last round of the FA Cup.
Despite being in the twilight of his career, Brown has made 26 appearances for Leeds this season.
