LUFC Barkley returning to Everton

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he will not be looking to extend the loan of midfielder Ross Barkley from Everton.

Barkley saw his current loan deal with Leeds come to an end after the game with Middlesbrough on Tuesday evening, a game in which he was left out of the squad.

Warnock feels that he cannot guarantee the young England under 21 international regular first team football and it is only fair that he joins a club where he will get that opportunity.

Speaking at his Press Conference after the game on Tuesday night, Warnock said, "I spoke to David and Ross and I cannot guarantee playing him and I did say I would do when I took him on board.

"It is only fair to David and Ross that he gets first team football. You have to be straightforward with each other, and I couldn`t guarantee him that now.

"I didn`t really want to change the team after the Tottenham game but I did and I felt guilty for doing it. I shouldn`t have promised him first team football but both David and Ross have been great about it."

Barkley made three starts for Leeds during his month at Elland Road after making his debut at Barnsley.
