LUFC Lees - Tonight is a must win game

Leeds United defender Tom Lees says the game at Middlesbrough this evening is a must win if they are to keep their hopes of reaching the play-offs alive.

Middlesbrough currently fill the final play-off place and a win over Leeds tonight would see them move eight points clear of Leeds with fifteen games remaining. A Leeds win would see them move to within two points of Middlesbrough. "It is a must win," Lees told LUTV.

Leeds were left frustrated at the weekend when they conceded an injury time equaliser at Wolverhampton Wanderers but despite dropping points they did move a point closer to Middlesbrough, who are enduring a poor start to 2013.

Middlesbrough have yet to pick up a point this year and Lees says he is hoping to add to their woes by adding to their losing run. "It is a massive game. They have not been doing so well of late and I am sure they are frustrated and looking to turn things around.

"Every team can have a bad patch, where their results are not going so well. We have to take advantage of it and kick them whilst they are down," continued Lees.

Lees is expected to continue his partnership alongside Lee Peltier at the heart of the Leeds defence tonight.

The duo are quickly growing a good understanding at the back for Leeds and the side have lost just one of their five games since the partnership was formed.
