LUFC Warnock believes Leeds can put a run together

LUFC Warnock believes Leeds can put a run together

Leeds United boss Neil Warnock says he will not write off promotion this season and he believes the side are capable of putting a run together.

Leeds remained six points off the final play-off place last weekend despite the defeat to Cardiff City and with just seventeen games remaining, Leeds are running out of games if they are to get into the top six.

Speaking at his Press Conference ahead of the game with Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend, Warnock said, "I think there is an opportunity for us to have a late spurt. I think we are getting better and in the last few weeks, we have got more consistent.

"I want to get promotion. It is more difficult because the automatic places look out of reach, so it looks like the play-offs.

"Until it is mathematically impossible I will be trying, I want promotion.

"I think the next five or six games will give us a rough idea, they are all tough games."

Leeds have been poor on the road this season, winning just three games and they face two tricky games in the space of four days, starting with Wolverhampton Wanderers this weekend.

Next up is a trip to Middlesbrough, who currently sit in sixth place in the championship, a game Leeds really cannot afford to lose.

It is the start of a run of games, which will see Leeds play five of their next seven games away from Elland Road.

Leeds also face trips to promotion contenders Crystal Palace and Leicester City, as well as a trip to Blackburn Rovers.

The whites are currently on 41 points and will need to win at least ten of their final seventeen games to stand any chance of reaching the end of season play offs.
