LUFC Wolves v Leeds - Over The Years

Vital Leeds United looks at the head-to-head record against Wolverhampton Wanderers at Molineux over the years.

The two sides have met on 44 occasions at Wolverhampton with the home side winning 20, Leeds have won 12 and 12 have been drawn.

The first ever meeting came in the 1920/21 season when Wolves won 3-0. One week later, Leeds gained revenge with a 3-0 win at Elland Road.

Leeds won for the first time in their third visit in the 1922/23 season. Ernie Hart scored the only goal of the game in a 1-0 win.

Possibly the most famous game at Molineux came in the 1971/72 season. Leeds travelled to Wolverhampton just two days after winning the FA Cup Final requiring just a point to complete the double. Despite a Billy Bremner goal, Leeds went down to a 2-1 defeat, handing the title to Derby County.

In recent times, Leeds have won just one of the last six meetings when they won a Full Members Cup tie 2-1 in the 1990/91 season.

The last time they met was in the 2006/07 season when Wolves won 1-0.

Leeds have gone 357 minutes since they last scored at Wolves when Michael Duberry gave them an early lead in a game they went on to lose 3-1.
